A combination of soccer and golf, EagleVail is only the fifth golf course to introduce the sport in Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>According to the American FootGolf League, the combination soccer and golf sport called FootGolf is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball on shortened holes, such as a par 3 course, with 21-inch diameter cups.  The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf, playing in groups of four, players compete to kick the soccer ball from the tee box into the cup with the least number of kicks.  Each kick is considered a \u201cstroke\u201d, much like golf.  The official rules of Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) can be found online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was instantly excited about a new opportunity to introduce people to the golf course experience without the standard intimidation that hinders many people from learning the game,\u201d said EagleVail Golf Club\u2019s Director of Golf Ben Welsh.  \u201cWe can create more golfers with this program once they discover the fun of Foot Golf and being out on our beautiful course and also, we will engage the many avid soccer players in the Valley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FootGolf is offered daily at the EagleVail Golf Club\u2019s Willow Creek Par 3 course from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m through September 7th.  The Willow Creek Par 3 course is open form Memorial Day weekend through the 1st week of September each summer. The cost is $12.00 per adult and $9.00 per child under the age of 17, and soccer balls may be rented for $2.<\/p>\n<p>Organized in 2009 in the Netherlands, FootGolf is played throughout the world on five continents.  The first World Cup was held in 2012 in Budapest, Hungary with teams participating from Hungary, Argentina, Belgium, Greece, Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, United States.  The sport is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG).  The American FootGolf League (AFGL) is the exclusive member of the FIFG and governing body for the sport of FootGolf in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>EagleVail Golf Club \u2013 Live, Play, Relax, Enjoy.
