The Vilar Performing Arts Center welcomes Herman\u2019s Hermits starring Peter Noone on Tuesday, July 1 at 8:00PM. This original \u201cBritish Invasion\u201d band\u2019s hits include \u201cI\u2019m Into Something Good,\u201d \u201cMrs. Brown, You\u2019ve Got A Lovely Daughter,\u201d \u201cI\u2019m Henry VIII, I Am,\u201d \u201cNo Milk Today,\u201d \u201cCan\u2019t You Hear My Heartbeat,\u201d and \u201cThere\u2019s A Kind of Hush.\u201d Tickets to Herman\u2019s Hermits starring Peter Noone are $62 and are on sale now at the VPAC Box Office (970.845.8497\/www.vilarpac.org).<\/p>\n

VPAC Executive Director Kris Sabel states, \u201cIf you\u2019re looking for a great way to kick off your summer, an evening with Peter Noone of Herman\u2019s Hermits will do the trick. Peter has some of the most dedicated and passionate fans of any artist we\u2019ve presented and once you\u2019ve seen him perform, you will understand why. He puts on a high-energy show featuring all of Herman\u2019s Hermits hits along with some other gems from the British Invasion. We get so many requests every year to bring in Peter, and we are so excited that he\u2019s back here to perform at the VPAC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter Noone is a multi-talented entertainer who has been delighting audiences nearly all his life. He was born in Manchester, England, where he studied voice and acting at St. Bede\u2019s College and the Manchester School of Music and Drama. As a child, he played \u201cStanley Fairclough\u201d in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street. He was also featured in the television series \u201cKnight Errant,\u201d \u201cFamily Solicitor,\u201d and \u201cMonro\u2019s Saki Stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

As \u201cHerman\u201d of Herman\u2019s Hermits, the photogenic young Noone graced the cover of nearly every international publication including Time Magazine. He performed on hundreds of television shows and appeared with such luminaries as Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin and Danny Kaye. He was cast as the engaging \u201cDuke of Cheshire\u201d in ABC\u2019s musical version of \u201cThe Canterville Ghost.\u201d Soon thereafter, he portrayed the title role in Hallmark Hall of Fame\u2019s \u201cPinocchio.\u201d He also starred in three highly successful feature films for M-G-M: \u201cMrs. Brown, You\u2019ve Got A Lovely Daughter,\u201d \u201cHold On!,\u201d and \u201cWhen The Boys Meet The Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the eighties, Peter starred on Broadway in the New York Shakespeare Festival\u2019s production of Gilbert and Sullivan\u2019s The Pirates of Penzance as the dashing young hero, \u201cFrederic.\u201d His performance was so well received, that he went on to reprise the role at the world-famous Drury Lane Theatre in London and with both the U.S. National Touring Company and the International Touring Company of \u201cPirates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter\u2019s acting career flourished with guest-starring roles in prime-time television series such as: \u201cMarried With Children,\u201d \u201cMy Two Dads,\u201d \u201cDave\u2019s World, Easy Street,\u201d \u201cToo Close For Comfort,\u201d \u201cQuantum Leap\u201d and \u201cLaverne and Shirley.\u201d<\/p>\n

The nineties found Peter embarking on a four-year stint as the winsome host of VH1\u2019s \u201cMy Generation,\u201d the highest-ever-rated half hour retrospective of pop\/rock music. More recently, he was featured in the recurring role of \u201cPaddington\u201d on the CBS daytime drama, \u201cAs The World Turns.\u201d His legion of fans eagerly awaited each episode and Peter quickly became a favorite a soap opera favorite.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by his band, HERMAN\u2019S HERMITS, Noone currently performs over 200 concerts a year. He consistently plays to sold-out venues and his admirers span the generations. Voted VH1\u2019s viewer\u2019s choice for the \u201cSexiest Artist of the Year,\u201d there is no doubt that Peter Noone\u2019s extraordinary talent, disarming wit, handsome features and compelling stage presence will continue to delight fans of all ages, for a long, long time to come.<\/p>\n
