{"id":36137,"date":"2020-11-24T22:17:46","date_gmt":"2020-11-24T22:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vailvalleypartnership.com\/?p=36137"},"modified":"2020-11-24T22:17:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-24T22:17:46","slug":"eagle-county-announces-application-and-enforcement-process-to-ensure-event-compliance-with-public-health-orders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vailvalleypartnership.com\/2020\/11\/eagle-county-announces-application-and-enforcement-process-to-ensure-event-compliance-with-public-health-orders\/","title":{"rendered":"Eagle County announces application and enforcement process to ensure event compliance with public health orders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nov. 24, 2020 &#8211; As an extension of the county\u2019s updated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaglecounty.us\/PublicHealth\/Documents\/Public_Health_Order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">public health order<\/a>\u00a0and the move into the high-risk Orange level, Eagle County Public Health &amp; Environment has implemented an application process for all public and private events to ensure their compliance with precautions as required by the state\u2019s event guidance.<\/p>\n<p>Per the public health order, an \u201c\u2018Event\u2019 means any gathering that exceeds 10 people and\/or two households when not otherwise regulated as a specific sector or activity&#8230;.\u201d Moving forward, those wishing to host either a public or private event must\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/CG8V7PzwfMVfuDc4A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">submit a formal request<\/a>\u00a0to ECPHE. Requests will be reviewed in a timely manner; current turnaround time is approximately one week. Applicants will either receive a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1a1y0tPE5wrg6QHzxZ5Qd94e6yPLAPEz949MDQj3oq-Y\/preview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">letter of approval<\/a>\u00a0or a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1HB-E4Vm8UdlFJVEHfFprIgsZ9uGo_ET3mTeyED7ZWKk\/preview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">letter of denial<\/a>\u00a0pertaining to the event request. Event venues both public and private are required to submit one application for all of their planned events occurring from now until Dec. 31. A property with multiple venues that plans to host events in each venue, will need to submit an application for each.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvaluating events for approval or denial on a case-by-case basis is certainly not a position we\u2019d prefer to be in, but it will be an important tool to bring disease levels down,\u201d said Morgan Hill, environmental health manager. \u201cAfter multiple COVID-19 outbreaks associated with Halloween events, social gatherings, especially multi-family get-togethers and party atmospheres, continue to drive a significant amount of disease spread in our community. Any environment where multiple households spend time together without face coverings and maintaining a minimum of 6 feet distance between one another is at high risk for disease spread. If you are planning to hold an event in Eagle County, it must be done thoughtfully and in compliance with public health orders. Our county\u2019s health, jobs, and schools depend on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, ECPHE is continuing to work with local law enforcement to improve compliance at certain restaurants and bars. In general, officials have noted a high degree of cooperation from local businesses, but are prepared to crack down on repeat offenders and those who are failing to comply with public health orders. Members of the public should continue to report violations to non-emergency dispatch at 970-479-2201.<\/p>\n<p>Officials stress that visitors to Eagle County are also expected to comply with all local health orders, including those related to events.<\/p>\n<p>Updates on the county\u2019s response to COVID-19 are being shared at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eaglecountycovid.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.eaglecountycovid.org<\/a>.
