<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"During these unprecedented times, all businesses have been challenged to figure out how to operate.\u00a0 Before April 27, real estate was limited to transactions in the closing stage, and showing property was not allowed. \u00a0The lifting of some restrictions means that Realtors can now show properties in-person. However, strict protocols must be followed, including no open houses as of June 1.<\/p>\n
As a result, the Vail Board of Realtors (VBR) launched a \u201cSafe Showing Pledge\u201d campaign to help its members follow the guidelines when showing properties.\u00a0 These extra precautions come directly from the State of Colorado’s ‘safer at home\u2019 field services and the Department of Regulatory Agencies’ real estate Appendix B.\u00a0 VBR’s goal has been to provide members with the facts in these challenging times. \u00a0Information changes frequently, so having a reliable source is valuable for members.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was asked to chair the private sector real estate task force for Eagle County, and during our meetings, we decided quickly that we needed guidelines to follow when showing property,\u201d said Erica Kirk, VBR association executive. \u201cWe took Appendix B guidelines and put them into the pledge. They are very detailed and provide the structure needed.\u201d<\/p>\n
The commitment of this pledge is to protect the Vail Valley community and buyers and sellers. The campaign highlights the additional steps being taken by Realtors while showing properties.\u00a0 The extra protocols include wearing a mask, maintaining a detailed log of clients, and making sure cleaning and disinfecting happen between showings.<\/p>\n
The pledge includes twelve items that are completed to ensure the safety of everyone.\u00a0 Social media graphics were created for members to share on social media, including a Facebook profile image frame that says, \u201cI\u2019m committed to the Safe Showing Pledge.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur focus is on protecting the members of our community,\u201d said Laura Sellards, VBR Chair. \u201cWe know many people have fears and concerns, therefore we are committed to protecting the medical and economic health of everyone in our community. By committing to this pledge, we want to show that we care, and we are professionals protecting our neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n
