{"id":33105,"date":"2020-05-18T18:33:52","date_gmt":"2020-05-18T18:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vailvalleypartnership.com\/?p=33105"},"modified":"2020-05-18T18:33:52","modified_gmt":"2020-05-18T18:33:52","slug":"sba-and-treasury-release-paycheck-protection-program-loan-forgiveness-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vailvalleypartnership.com\/2020\/05\/sba-and-treasury-release-paycheck-protection-program-loan-forgiveness-application\/","title":{"rendered":"SBA and Treasury Release Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong>\u2014Today, the U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the U.S Department of the Treasury, released the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loan Forgiveness Application and detailed instructions for the application.<\/p>\n<p>The form and instructions inform borrowers how to apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans, consistent with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).\u00a0 SBA will also soon issue regulations and guidance to further assist borrowers as they complete their applications, and to provide lenders with guidance on their responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>The form and instructions include several measures to reduce compliance burdens and simplify the process for borrowers, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Options for borrowers to calculate payroll costs using an \u201calternative payroll covered period\u201d that aligns with borrowers\u2019 regular payroll cycles<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to include eligible payroll and non-payroll expenses paid or incurred during the eight-week period after receiving their PPP loan<\/li>\n<li>Step-by-step instructions on how to perform the calculations required by the CARES Act to confirm eligibility for loan forgiveness<\/li>\n<li>Borrower-friendly implementation of statutory exemptions from loan forgiveness reduction based on rehiring by June 30<\/li>\n<li>Addition of a new exemption from the loan forgiveness reduction for borrowers who have made a good-faith, written offer to rehire workers that was declined<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PPP was created by the CARES Act to provide forgivable loans to eligible small businesses to keep American workers on the payroll during the COVID-19 pandemic.\u00a0 The documents released today will help small businesses seek forgiveness at the conclusion of the eight-week covered period, which begins with the disbursement of their loans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/content.sba.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2020-05\/3245-0407%20SBA%20Form%203508%20PPP%20Forgiveness%20Application.pdf\">Click here<\/a> to view the application and instructions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON\u2014Today, the U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the U.S Department of the Treasury, released the Paycheck Protection Program&#8230;<br \/><a class=\"read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vailvalleypartnership.com\/2020\/05\/sba-and-treasury-release-paycheck-protection-program-loan-forgiveness-application\/\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":17931,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[87],"tags":[611,2381,2417,2418,2247,2331,2345,1304,2270,1586,311],"class_list":["post-33105","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-community-press-releases","tag-colorado","tag-congress","tag-congressman-joe-neguse","tag-forgiveness-application","tag-loan","tag-paycheck-protection-program","tag-ppp","tag-program","tag-sba","tag-us","tag-vail-valley-partnership"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
