As we find ourselves moving from in-person meetings to platforms such as Zoom, some organizations have unfortunately fallen victim to a new form of trolling, called Zoom-bombing. Unfortunately, school districts, town councils, and other public entities have had their meetings disrupted by trolls who are taking over the screen-share and displaying awful videos to their participants. There is a simple step you can take to ensure that your meeting isn’t Zoom-bombed. Within your Zoom account, go to Personal, Settings, and under the Meetings tab select Screen Sharing, then “Who Can Share?” This should be set to you, and only you, the host of the meeting. Don’t worry, if you have a number of people who need to share their screens during your meeting you can very easily assign host duties during the live meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n
If your meeting URL is publicly viewable, keep in mind that anyone can join your meeting<\/i>. If you have publicly posted a Zoom meeting URL, you probably want the public to join you and learn about your actions to address COVID-19, to ask questions, and to communicate vital information.
