Learn more about the SGM Water Rate Study, Water Efficiency Study and the need for the new water plant in Eagle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage the community to join us for a casual open house with the opportunity to ask direct questions about proposed rates, conservation and treatment plant plan.\u201d said acting Town Manager, Tom Boni. \u201cWe\u2019ll be presenting comprehensive summaries on all LBWTP work to date. This information affects all water account holders and we want to be transparent and help provide opportunities to participate and get informed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Open House Format<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>There will be a brief introduction into an open format with visuals, review of studies covering information on: water account rate fee increases\/monthly surcharge, tap fee increases (on new development), variable EQR, water efficiency and conservation, and the LBWTP construction costs and phasing. This casual Public Open House will provide time for active listening, open comments, questions and discussions about the Town\u2019s plan. Refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Meeting Schedule for January 2018 LBWTP:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Jan.9, 2018 \u2013 Board of Trustees \u2013 Eagle Town Hall<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 18, 2018 \u2013 Public Open House \u2013 Brush Creek Pavilion<\/p>\n<p>Jan.23, 2018 \u2013 Board of Trustees \u2013 Eagle Town Hall<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Lower Basin Water Treatment Plant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Town of Eagle is moving forward with plans to construct a second water treatment facility located east of the existing wastewater treatment plant at the confluence of Brush Creek and the Eagle River.<\/p>\n<p>Investing in water infrastructure includes capital improvement costs, plant operations, the cost of distribution of water and planning for future water needs.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed plant has been in consideration since 2007, with an initial plant design completed in 2012. The time is right for a new plant with Brush Creek water rights being exhausted, the current water demand, anticipated need for redundancy in the system and to support Eagle\u2019s future.
