Vail Valley Partnership is has recently revamped our Non-Profit Network (NPN) program designed to enhance the presence of non-profit organizations in the Vail Valley.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There are many organizations doing great work to support out community. This is just one way the VVP is working to connect our nonprofit community to additional resources to help them grow their organizations, and to fulfill their important missions within the community.
\nFirst, let\u2019s define a nonprofit: a nonprofit organization (NPO) does not distribute profits or dividends. Instead it retains any earnings or surplus revenues to achieve its goals. An organization is deemed eligible for nonprofit status under US Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c). While nonprofit organizations are permitted to generate surplus revenues, these revenues must be retained by the organization for its self-preservation, expansion, or plans. NPOs have controlling members or boards. Many have paid staff, including management, while others employ unpaid volunteers and even executives who work with or without compensation. \nNonprofit organizations play a vital role by providing resources and services to meet community needs without regard to profit. Nonprofits aid in the development and upkeep of such sectors of society as education, the arts, economic development, cultural awareness, spirituality, veterans affairs, children\u2019s health, health and wellness, and other societal needs. Nonprofits in our community, and across the country, are often able to achieve great results with limited resources.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Clearly, our nonprofit sector is key to our continued community success. As such, the Non-Profit Network derived from our desire to strengthen the connection between businesses, visitors, second homeowners, and non-profit partners through education, networking and community awareness. As part of the NPN, the Vail Valley Volunteer Connection (VVVC) is an online resource available to all VVP non-profit members that allows them to promote volunteer needs on a live calendar located on both VailValleyPartnership.com<\/a> and VisitVailValley.com<\/a>. This comprehensive calendar will help connect interested community members, new residents, second homeowners, guests and other civic organizations to our vibrant non-profit community.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Additionally, in partnership with the Eagle River Youth Coalition, VVP is hosting quarterly trainings specifically related to the non-profit industry. Trainings include \u201cHow to Recruit and Retain Volunteers\u201d hosted by Colorado Nonprofit Association, and a non-profit social media seminar hosted by Blizzard Press.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vail Valley Partnership encourages a closer relationship between businesses and non-profit organizations by including the sponsorship of a non-profit as a VVP Member in three of their membership levels. All Gold, Platinum, and Cornerstone level members are able to champion a non-profit to receive Silver level VVP benefits, all at no additional cost. Additionally, any member business can sponsor a non-profit for $350, giving the organization Bronze Level membership benefits.<\/p>\n
