Is breathing clean air important? Would more oxygen make you feel rejuvenated? How about reduced exposure to bacteria and viruses? Altitude Control Technologies (ACT) system provides a solution for all three.

ACT’s guaranteed solution increases and regulates oxygen levels in high altitude mountain homes to simulate a lower altitude, improve sleep and eliminate altitude sickness. The ACT system will help your family breathe easier, keep everyone healthier, more focused and productive to enjoy your mountain lifestyle.

Create Healthy Indoor Air Quality in your Home

Low oxygen levels can create a major concern for many families living at altitude. The ACT system eliminates symptoms linked to poor indoor air quality including:

 • Headache
 • Fatigue
 • Shortness of breath
 • Dizziness

Altitude Control Technologies system provides safe, cleaner air by purifying the air of bacteria or viruses. The ACT system meets the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard for indoor air quality

Keep Air Fresh

Ordinary room oxygenation systems can make a room feel stuffy or stale. ACT’s unique technology manages air exchange to keep the air fresh, removing stale air and providing clean fresh air that is always comfortable to breathe. Oxygen enrichment of room air improves well-being at high altitude.

The ACT system filters the air to remove impurities. Then it is filtered again through a HEPA filter before being run through a molecular sieve. Your bedroom will have the highest quality air in the house. It’s the best air you can breathe.

Safety First

Safety is integral to each ACT system. We don’t just add oxygen to a room, we engineer a whole system and guarantee the performance and safety of our system. ACT systems meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard for safe oxygen limits. The NFPA’s standard is a function of barometric pressure which is constantly changing. Without real-time barometric sensors, oxygen sensors and an integrated controller, a system cannot be brought close to the real oxygen limit and may only be fire safe “most of the time”. The ACT system is the only oxygenation system that meets the National Fire Protection Association safety standard.

Although we employ many different technologies, we focus on only one product: a fully integrated altitude simulation system managed by our ACT Altitude Controller™. A true altitude controller ensures that every element of the system works seamlessly: oxygen, altitude, ventilation, pressure, air quality, and fire safety.

Over the past 24 years, Altitude Control Technologies has designed and engineered nearly every major altitude simulation system in Summit County. We value our Vail Valley roots by continually educating local homeowners about our technology so, as they age and find themselves having trouble breathing or sleeping, that they can remain living in their home at altitude.

ACT has proven success

We understand physiology – Our medical board of advisors are the world leaders in altitude-related physiology, with their own mountains of published papers on the subject, including the oxygenation of rooms.

Altitude Control Technologies home oxygenation system makes living life at altitude more comfortable. It’s truly the best air you can breathe.

Sleep well, play harder, and feel better.

Feb. 10, 2021 – Eagle County has updated its public health order to adopt the newest order from the state, which went into effect on Feb. 6 and includes the COVID-19 Dial 2.0. The dial determines public health restrictions by county based on disease incidence rate, average positivity, and number of hospitalizations. The new dial incorporates revised metrics for determining a county’s color-coded status and is now based on weekly, instead of bi-weekly, reported data.

Eagle County remains in level Orange under the new dial. Colorado has experienced a decrease in disease incidence rate over the past four weeks; however, many resort counties with a high volume of visitation remain at higher disease rates. Public health officials continue to reinforce following the Five Commitments of Containment to help continue to reduce the spread of the virus in Eagle County and qualify for the less restrictive level Yellow.

“We have a lot of hope with the vaccination roll out in Eagle County, but we are asking for everyone’s help to reduce the current disease spread,” said Heath Harmon, Director of Eagle County Public Health and Environment. “The high rates in Eagle County and other resort communities are still impacting local businesses and schools. We still have several more months of wearing masks, keeping physical distance and limiting large gatherings. These precautions will support our economy and schools by lowering disease spread, while allowing our health system to focus on vaccinations.”

]]>
How does one even begin to sum up 2020? It is very tempting to catalog everything that happened, but let’s leave that effort to the news organizations and the historians. Instead, let us look forward. As we look at 2021 three major trends are emerging: political disruption, Coronavirus changes, and economic evolution.

It seems after every election we are amazed by the vitriol that has been injected into the political sphere. The 2020 election had more than its fair share. The results show us a country that is deeply divided on a number of issues and this division brings with it increased uncertainty for businesses as both regulation and taxation will be oscillating from one extreme to the other. That being said, American businesses are extremely flexible and should be able to handle it. No matter what the make-up is of the U.S Congress, the reality is there will be only so much the new administration will be able to get done before the mid-term elections. While politics will continue to dominate headlines there may not be much in the way of sustained market moving actions.

Regarding COVID-19, the vaccine rollout has started. Most estimates seem to put the achievement of some type of “herd immunity” due to vaccinations and survivors of COVID-19 as sometime around late summer. As that effort comes to fruition and we get back to “normal” there will likely be some amount of walking back of the major COVID-19 trends. Those trends include working from home, suspension of business travel, movement to smaller communities, and de-globalization. It is hard to put the genie back into the bottle though. While some rebound will occur, these were trends that existed before COVID-19 and will likely continue into the future.

One other change out of 2020 will be harder to walk back, fiscal and monetary support for the economy. As I mentioned in my last newsletter, we have seen an unprecedented amount of support for the economy both from the U.S. Government (fiscal) and from the U.S. Federal Reserve (monetary). Similar support, but on a much smaller scale, happened during the 2008 Financial Crisis, but what happened in 2020 dwarfs the efforts in 2008. This will likely continue into 2021.

Far from just supporting those individuals hardest hit by COVID-19, a fair amount of the stimulus seems to have found its way into asset prices. We’ve seen record prices in stocks, some real estate (Location, Location, Location), gold, cryptocurrencies, and even collectable sneakers! Do these prices reflect a bubble? The answer to that question will likely depend on whether or not it continues.

From a monetary point of view, it is unlikely to change. The current Chairperson of the U.S. Federal Reserve has stated that they plan on keeping interest rates low thru 2021 at least. Of course, he may be replaced with the incoming of the new administration, but it would very surprising if that view changed. Likely the Federal Reserve will continue to offer material support for the economy until it sees clear signs of the economy strengthening like near full employment or strong inflation.

From a fiscal point of view the outlook is murkier. A lot may depend on the makeup of the Congress, but no matter which party controls the different chambers they would be hard pressed to not continue with some sort of stimulus early in 2021. The only real question is the amount and how it is distributed.

As we look to 2021, we will be offsetting the (hopefully diminishing) effects of COVID-19 against the fiscal and monetary support. We think the market should continue to show some strength and interest rates should continue to stay low.

On a personal note, I would like to thank you, our clients, for the flexibility you’ve continued to show my staff and myself with online meetings and dealing with the vagaries of sending documents through the mail or over the internet. We are planning to continue to meet virtually or over the phone well into 2021. As always if there is anything we can be doing better to help you understand your financial situation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. c

Avant-garde, contemporary dance meets Grammy Award-winning musicians in the VPAC’s Residency Series

Micaela Taylor’s All Star Band performs LIVE January 7-9

Beaver Creek, Colo., Dec. 9, 2020 — The Vilar Performing Arts Center adds a rare and poignant program to its Residency lineup. An innovative and timely artist ensemble will take stage this January 7, 8 and 9 in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Micaela Taylor’s All Star Band is sure to be a collaboration unlike anything experienced before. Avant-garde, contemporary dance meets Grammy Award-winning musicians. This performance will feature dance, choreography and music transcending genre and styles.

The VPAC’s winter Residency Series will premiere signature pandemic-time performances of unique collaborations between artists who can rehearse during the day at the facility in Beaver Creek – safely in the mountains and away from crowded cities. Each residency will culminate in a series of small, physically-distanced performances (and public health protocols will be strictly followed throughout the residency). A select number of premium tickets will be sold to the intimate performances. All tickets are available at the VPAC box office (970-845-8497; www.vilarpac.org). The VPAC is located under the ice rink in Beaver Creek Village (68 Avondale Lane, Beaver Creek, Colorado).

Micaela Taylor is making waves in the dance scene with her new movement style, called “Expand Practice,” which allows the artist to expand their mind, body and narrative. It encourages the freedom of expression through movement and facial expressions amplified within a group element by embracing the creation of bodies dancing together as one collective. During a poignant time characterized by divisiveness, Micaela’s choreography is one that strikes a chord to connect us all – reminding us of the importance of tolerance and cohesion in a world of social distancing.

Her work with the highly acclaimed musicians of her All Star Band will draw from music she naturally vibes with, including early 90’s R&B. Inspired by the staccato foundations of hip-hop, her style draws from a hybrid of musical genres rooted in clear classical lines forming a style uniquely her own.

Micaela was the recipient of the Inaugural Springboard EMERGE Choreographic Award and recently named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch,” 2019, and was on the cover of Dance Magazine in May 2020. She is trailblazing in the city of Los Angeles and beyond.

The All Star band members will include MonoNeon, DJ Logic, Daru Jones and Vernon Reid. MonoNeon (Dywane Thomas Jr.), is an American bassist, experimental musician and songwriter. He is known for his presence on YouTube playing bass guitar and for being one of the last people to work with Prince. It was his eclectic artistry on the bass that first caught Prince’s attention in 2014. Mono and Prince performed a number of concerts at Paisley Park, and also recorded and release the track, “RUFF ENUFF.” MonoNeon has also become known for his speech to music multitracking videos and compositions.

Daru Jones is one of the most respected drummers of his generation. He is a two-time Grammy Award-Winning musician for his work on Lazaretto (Jack White) and on Testimony (Gloria Gaynor). He has toured with an extensive list of musicians and has also appeared on The David Letterman Show, The Colbert Report and Saturday Night Live.

Vernon Reid, guitarist and composer, was the founder and primary songwriter of the rock band Living Colour. Reid was named No. 66 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

The theorem of turntablist as musician has been long proven by DJ Logic, who with jazz as his foundation has been an innovator by crossing genres and mixing his sound across the map. As one of the world’s most accomplished turntablist’s, DJ Logic is widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip-hop and jam band realms.
