VVP Connect, an online platform, launches to lead and strengthen collaboration for the Vail Valley business community

(EDWARDS, Colorado – February 23, 2021) –Vail Valley Partnership’s mission is to lead collaboration. Vail Valley Partnership (VVP) is launching a new collaborative, online platform that merges professional networking with a resource library exclusively for VVP members and community partners that allows users to connect, discuss, share and champion ideas for the Vail Valley businesses and community. VVP Connect brings together current and future leaders, fosters creativity, grows our networks, and is a catalyst for innovation.

Vail Valley Partnership, the regional chamber of commerce for the Vail Valley, is offering this online platform to engage industry sectors, advocacy groups, and networking groups with public and private community groups. For example, VVP Connect users can view and join public communities like Economic Development, Workforce Housing Coalition or the Nonprofit Network. Other private communities like VVP’s “Leads Group” will be invite only and not viewable to the public. Within each group you can start, and reply to, discussion threads, upload files and share links to a library, and individually connect with other members within the group.

“We are excited to launch this program to help provide opportunities to connect local professionals, help our members build long-lasting relationships, and provide niche communities for people to share ideas and increase collaboration,” says Vail Valley Partnership’s President & CEO Chris Romer.

Romer continues, “This platform is also designed specifically to be an extra resource library for local business and to provide businesses and individuals with updated information on the latest trends and grants access to tap into them whenever the need arises.”

VVP Connect is an easy-to-use application that features:

  • Member profiles where users can upload their headshot, insert a short bio, and list out their job history, community involvement, professional interests, and certifications and achievements
  • Connections between professionals to grow their network and social circles
  • Public/private working groups labeled as “communities” including advocacy groups, industry sectors, community leaders, and professional development community groups
  • Resource libraries to upload and share files and links within each of their own community groups
  • Ribbons, badges and certifications that members can earn by engaging on the platform and reaching benchmarks, or completing Vail Valley Works professional development courses
  • VVP business resource library that allows VVP members to access educational programming files, economic reports, and more

“Our members continue to tell us that professional connections and networking are increasingly important. COVID has increased this need and requires us to be intentional about how we, at the Partnership, develop and create opportunities for our members to grow their networks and deepen their professional networks. VVP Connect was established for this exact purpose,” says VVP Director of Membership Maren Cerimele.

VVP staff had one key element in mind when building this application — it needs to be easy to use for the Vail Valley business community. VVP Connect was designed in this way: simple, clean and user friendly. Better yet, member users do not need to login each time to engage with their community discussions. Discussions are sent to the user emails in either a daily or weekly digest so that they can reply from their email’s inbox without logging in.

If Vail Valley business professionals want to explore the platform, you can begin by visiting VVPConnect.com and create an account by clicking the “Sign In” button at the upper right corner. Upon approval, you will receive an email to login and fill out “My Profile” with a headshot, bio, job history, community involvement, professional interests and certifications. We welcome and encourage all VVP members and community partners to engage with this platform. A more connected community is a stronger community.

Altitude Control Technology

Most people sleep poorly at altitude. In the mountains, oxygen saturation drops at night to unhealthy levels which disturbs sleep. The human body requires high levels of oxygen saturation to function properly and produce energy. Altitude Control Technologies (ACT) has the solution. ACT’s award-winning system is the most comfortable therapy for Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Adding oxygen to your bedroom disrupts the cycle of hypoxia. This eliminates the cause of altitude-related insomnia which restores restful sleep. ACT’s system extracts oxygen from the air and delivers it to your bedroom quietly to help you sleep soundly.

How does the ACT system work?

ACT’s solution is a three-part system that involves air separation, sensors, and a control system. Air separation technology extracts oxygen from the air and delivers it to the bedroom in a constant and quiet flow. This proprietary technology ensures that our altitude simulation system meets the highest standards and provides homeowners in the Vail Valley with a defense against altitude-related insomnia, headaches, and fatigue.

ACT is the only oxygen control system that measures barometric pressure – a critical step in altitude simulation. The control system uses pressure data to meet the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) fire safety standard, which is directly related to atmospheric pressure. The system also meets the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) standard for safe oxygen levels. ACT’s COsensor monitors air quality every six seconds and sends this information to the controller. The controller triggers ventilation to ensure the highest air quality which complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standard for indoor air quality. The ACT controller handles everything automatically, which provides a healthy and pleasant oxygen-enriched environment.

Altitude Control Technologies system has set the gold standard for oxygen simulation and you will feel the difference from the very first night. Our focus is on safety, reliability, accuracy, and control. You can control the system from anywhere in the world using your smartphone.

We understand physiology – Our medical board of advisors are the world leaders in altitude-related physiology, with their own mountains of published papers on the subject, including the oxygenation of homes.

Altitude Control Technologies is the global leader in altitude simulation with more than 3,000 customers worldwide and 25 years of software engineering experience. We designed and engineered nearly every major altitude simulation system in Summit County. Since the beginning, our passion for innovation has been at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to call the Vail Valley home.

Client list: Smithsonian Institute; Harvard Medical School; Mayo Clinic; Nike; Olympic Training Centers in 14 countries; US Naval Air Systems Command; Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); and 50+ research institutions in the United States.

We know altitude. Sleep well, play harder and feel better.

DID YOU KNOW?

Small business is the heart of Colorado’s economy. There are more than 611,000 small businesses in Colorado, representing more than 99% of Colorado businesses. Supporting small businesses means supporting your community.

Here in the Vail Valley, 90% of our businesses have fewer than 20 employees. Small business is not only the heart but also the soul of our community!

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS

According to the Small Business Administration, when you shop locally, 70% of your spending stays in the local economy, whereas only 30% remains when shopping non-locally. This means if you spend $100, your community keeps $70. This increases local tax revenues, used to support schools, police, fire stations, roads and more. Local businesses also utilize other local businesses such as marketing, accounting and printing, further impacting the local economy.

Your support helps ensure these small businesses make it through this economic downturn.

Here are some ways to continue supporting small and local business during this unprecedented time:

  • Give the Gift of Business: Buy a gift card to use at a later date or gift to a friend, shop locally online when possible and ask about curbside pickup, order take out from local restaurants.
  • Keep Your Subscription: To the gym, exercise class, painting class, music and dance lessons, etc. Many small businesses rely on your support to keep their doors open and pay their bills. Your continued support can save that business!
  • Ask How You Can Help: Contact your friends who own a business and see how you can help. Like, share, comment and engage with them on social media to help increase their reach.
  • Prepare for the Change in Seasons: Get your skis and snowboards tuned, wash your car, and don’t forget about changing to snow tires!
  • When You Feel Well and are Out and About: Consider a generous tip for services that you utilize, be kind and offer a thank you and smile (even behind your mask you can smile with your eyes), keep your distance, and wash your hands.

Visit our online business directory to find VVP member business information to get inspired to #ShopLocalVailValley!

2020-2021 Eagle County Merchant Pass Program Announced

  • The 2020-21 Epic Merchant Pass will be offered for $979, and the Epic Local Merchant Pass will be offered for $729.
  • As a onetime offering to Merchants who participated in the program last year, and in recognition of a shortened 2019-20 season, merchants will be eligible to receive a 20% credit for their 2020-21 Merchant Pass purchases (restrictions apply, details below)
  • An online info session will be held Nov. 5 to explain changes to this year’s program and answer Merchant questions.
  • Business owners maintain ownership of Merchant Pass unlike Epic Pass, which belongs to individuals
  • Merchant Pass features a one-time transfer for $110 to accommodate employee changes.
  • Merchant Pass sales begin Nov. 4, 2020 in Vail and Nov. 7 2020 in Beaver Creek and will be available throughout the season.

VAIL, Colo. – Oct. 28, 2020Vail Resorts, Vail Valley Partnership (VVP), and Vail Chamber & Business Association (VBCA) have announced details of the 2020-2021 Eagle County Merchant Pass program, which is again offering two pass options for qualifying local businesses.

“Vail Resorts is proud to partner with Eagle County merchants through the Vail Valley Partnership & Vail Chamber and Business Association on our Merchant Pass products.  These pass products demonstrate our continued commitment to our community, and our belief, that guests experience the mountain and this community as one destination.” – Beth Howard, Vice President & COO – Vail Mountain

The Merchant Pass Program includes two options for the Merchant Pass – the Epic Merchant Pass and the Epic Local Merchant Pass. Both passes have expanded access from the original merchant pass program and offer the local community the option to ski and snowboard outside of Colorado. These options offer the opportunity to choose between passes with varying access and pricing.

The 2020-2021 Epic Merchant Pass will be offered for $979, and the Epic Local Merchant Pass will be offered for $729. As a onetime offering and in recognition of a shortened 2019-20 season, for each Merchant Pass purchased during the 2019-20 season, Merchants will be eligible to receive a 20% credit for their 202020-21 Merchant Passes purchases, if purchased prior to December 6th, 2020. This takes the Merchant Epic pass price to $783 and the Merchant Epic Local Pass price to $583. The price of the pass is subject to change with sufficient notice and available for purchase all season.

Merchant Passes will require reservations to access resorts and priority access will be granted until Dec. 7 for Merchant Pass holders to make up to 7 Priority Reservation Days prior to lift tickets going on sale starting Dec 8. Merchant passes are not eligible for EpicCoverage, but are eligible to be transferred once per season.

The Merchant Pass program has been in existence for many years, providing a compelling hiring tool for local businesses due to the wide-ranging benefits for employees. Unlike any other pass products, the pass ownership resides with the business versus an individual and features a one-time transfer for $110 to accommodate employee changes, and does not have a purchase deadline. Unlike the Epic Pass, which is owned by the pass holder and cannot be revoked or transferred by an employer regardless of who paid for it, the passes available through the Merchant Program are owned by the “merchant” or business and in the event that an employee leaves, the pass will be deactivated by the business and may be transferred to another employee. Both Merchant Passes will be restricted Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 26-31, 2020, and Jan. 16 and Feb.13-14, 2021.

Both passes available through the Merchant Program provide a number of ancillary benefits to employees. Benefit offerings include access to Vail Resorts’ popular ski and snowboard application, EpicMix, six ski-with-a-friend tickets, summer lift access at Vail and Beaver Creek (excluding bike haul), and more. Some restrictions apply for these benefits.

  • Epic Merchant Pass: $979* – Unlimited access with a reservation during core season (holiday restrictions apply) at Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood and Stowe.
